I slept really well in the room I picked, which was set back from the street and quiet. If you arrive late, let Andy know and he’ll leave your key in a box so you can collect it whenever you get there. He was very supportive and helped me out.

The owner is always reachable, respect! The room had everything I needed, and the sea, shops, and cafes were all an easy walk away.

The room and bathroom were clean. It’s easy to find on the main road, but it’s noisy both day and night. There’s no reception, or I couldn’t find anyone there.

I’ve never booked such a bad place, and the owner’s behavior really surprised me. We found another accommodation of his later, where a woman said he had also threatened her with the police. I saved the threatening phone conversation. Traffic on the four-lane road makes it hard to cross to the sea, and when my friends called, I couldn’t hear them over the noise from the balcony. The shelves in the wardrobe were visibly dirty when we arrived, and the plastic terrace chair collapsed under me while we sat outside smoking. On the first night we realized the paper-thin windows did nothing to block the four-lane highway noise. The room was terribly loud. Luckily, we had earplugs from the plane, and we could only sleep with those in. I made the mistake of posting about it on Google while we were still there. The next day the owner sent a threatening message, saying he’d go to the police and complain about defamation over the chair and vandalism, because, he said, you can’t write a bad accommodation review in Thailand. A day later he offered us a quieter room, but I didn’t want to risk leaving the place we’d paid for and not being able to return. His aggressive attitude put me off. I deleted the Google review because I didn’t want him to report me over an honest account. I’d only suggest this room to people who party at night or sleep very soundly. The city traffic on the four-lane road makes getting across to the sea difficult.
