Layalina Hotel

The room was lovely, with a jacuzzi bath, an upstairs balcony, and a really comfortable bed. Staff were pleasant and helpful, and cleaned the rooms every day. There were always sunbeds available by the pool. It’s not a big pool, but with only 11 rooms, that wasn’t an issue. The hotel is right on the beach, though you have to walk 2 mins to swim, which was fine. Restaurants and bars are close too. I don’t understand the negative reviews. We thought it was gorgeous and would definitely stay again and recommend it.

The people at Layalina Hotel were so kind and sincere. They communicated warmly and professionally, and it was clear they care about their guests. I’m already looking forward to staying there in 2026 and seeing the beautiful hotel in person. Highly recommend the hospitality and service 💛

The room was clean, and they even gave us free muffins. The staff were really friendly, spoke English very well, and made us feel welcome. It’s close to Kamala beach, with lots of shops and massage spas nearby. I recommend it.

My wife and I had to send each other out to the balcony whenever one of us needed the toilet, because there’s no window or proper wall between the bedroom and the toilet and shower, just a wooden curtain. We also had to order breakfast ahead and decide in advance when we’d wake up and what time it should be served. That’s not what I want to plan on vacation. When we asked for another blanket, they didn’t have one, and the evening front desk guy couldn’t speak or read English. The place is old and outdated. Even the tiny lobby, just a table and two chairs, says a lot about the supposed 4-star rating. The pool is a joke, only 10 meters long and 2 meters wide at most, so don’t trust the hotel’s official photo. Coming in from the main street felt like entering a very shady place. Check the Google Street picture if you don’t believe me. I could list more, but that’s enough. My reviews are usually good, but I had to set expectations for others. Our friends paid the same rate at a hotel 200 meters away, and there was no comparison. We ended up spending the whole day with them. It felt almost like a scam, calling this a 4-star hotel.
