The beds and pillows were very hard, which made it difficult for me to fall asleep. The place could use some care and upgrades, though the people running it are doing what they can. Staff were nice, and the neighborhood was quiet. Rooms were clean, and the bathroom had what we needed. The water heater was old but worked fine. We booked through Booking.com and paid 550 baht for one night. It was great value, and we were generally satisfied. We arrived late in transit and left in the morning. At 8 a.m. our car was the only one left in the parking lot, so it seemed other guests were making similar quick stops. I wouldn't choose it for a long stay, but I'd recommend it to budget travelers or anyone needing a one-night stop on the way somewhere else.

The rooms are modern and comfortable, and the location is good, close to town. My bathroom had a bad smell, though it was okay with the door closed.

I stayed at Rainbow from May 1 to May 8, 2025. Most of the staff were friendly, but a few things went wrong. I had to pay when I arrived and asked for a receipt at check-in, but didn't get one. I took a photo of my booking in the registration book instead. Booking.com, where I booked, also wasn't notified that I'd checked in because Rainbow hotel hadn't informed them. I asked to rent a bike and was told yes, but they forgot about it. The day before checkout, I said I was going to another hotel in Kamphaeng phet and asked them to book a taxi. They arranged one, but didn't tell the driver I was going to a hotel, so he thought I wanted the bus station. When I noticed he was going the wrong way, I told him we were going to the Soda hotel. He raised the fare from 100Baht to 150Baht. I got out and walked back to Rainbow. They helped me out by giving me a lift to the Soda for 50Baht.

The reception guys were very hospitable, and the AC worked fine. There was parking inside the yard too. But we rented two rooms for one night and found the place quite dirty. A couple of insects were running around, and the floors and furniture were dusty. There was no shower gel or toilet paper, and the toilet didn't flush properly. I knew this was a budget option and wasn't expecting too much, but they really should pay more attention to cleanliness.
