Monsane River Kwai Resort

A nice getaway not too far from Bangkok, right near the river.

The river view was one of the two good things here, along with the front desk staff's hospitality. The room was poorly maintained, especially the pillows, sheets, and duvet, and there was a strong smell. The deluxe room just had more space, no proper sofa, and a decorated garden view with water tanks. The neighbors were loud party people, singing karaoke until almost midnight. The resort entrance had a construction site view, a rough gravel road, and no signs or directions. Don't expect the views shown in the resort's ads, you won't get them. It was a night to remember as a reason not to come back.

The place is nice and quiet, with a lovely morning view, but breakfast was very poor. There was no serving staff around during breakfast hours. I ended up eating again after checking out because breakfast hadn't been enough.

I came for a romantic weekend with my partner and left very disappointed. When I arrived to check in, the hotel wanted to give me a room with no view, although that wasn't what I'd booked. After a long discussion with the non-English-speaking receptionist, they gave me a room with a view for one night, then said I'd have to move. There was nowhere else to go. The staff were unhelpful. I'd never come back, and would tell people to be careful when booking. They suggested booking directly with the hotel and paying more for a good room, but I doubt that would help.
