Riverpool Resort

The hotel is right on the main bar street, and getting to the night market costs 70 baht by Saleng Taxi. Wednesdays seem to bring more secondhand sellers than new-goods vendors, but it's still worth a look. Our rooms were spotless and had plenty of furniture, plus large ensuite shower rooms. The walk-in showers had nonslip tiles, good water pressure and plenty of water. Breakfast is self-service toast with tea or coffee, and those drinks are available free throughout the day.

The owners are really sweet, and there's a lovely little family of cats here. My room was clean and safe, with a huge bathroom. The bed was very comfortable, and I'm usually fussy about that.

Though it's right in the tourist area and on the river, the hotel sits off a side street on a large property, so it's very quiet. The location is central, the rooms are in good condition, and the manager was really helpful.

I booked this place just for the pool, but it was really dirty. There were ants outside my room and bugs in the bed, so I had to find somewhere else to stay.
