The staff, manager, and all the lovely women working there were fantastic, kind, friendly, and caring. They were accommodating and fun, and they cook great food at affordable prices. The view is to die for, and I feel for the workers because the new “festival night market” must be affecting their business and other locals trying to get by. My partner and I came for our engagement, which my partner didn’t know about at the time, hoping for a peaceful, relaxing stay. We just couldn’t get that. The ongoing “festival “night market”” across the river and the party boats blaring loud music from 8am were a massive letdown. There’s also sound from other guests coming through the simple thatched raft rooms, but that’s not the accommodation’s fault. If you like going to bed at midnight and waking at 6am, with interruptions through the night, this may suit you. We would have spent our last week in Thailand here, but with so little sleep, we just couldn’t. If the staff are reading this, I really wanted to give a higher rating. You were amazing. As British people, Kanchanaburi’s war history hit home hard. It’s sad and disappointing to see this place turned into a gimmick. I hope the local businesses don’t lose returning customers or the area get ruined. I’d urge people who see this review to write negative reviews about the “night market” across the way. It’s killing repeat business in Kanchanaburi.

I generally enjoyed my stay, and watching the sun go down from the little deck outside my floating room was bliss. I got used to the movement of the river pretty quickly. The room was functional but basic, and it didn’t have a refrigerator, though maybe that was just mine. The walls are very thin, and there’s karaoke on the river, so earplugs are a must. Mosquitoes weren’t an issue for me. I didn’t eat at the venue, so I can’t comment on the food.

The room was clean and nice, and the river view was great. It was very cheap, with hardly any amenities beyond soap and water, but that suited me. Just watch out for mosquitoes 🦟

From the shaded deck, I could sit in the breeze and watch the river drift by. I loved the place. My room was floating on the river, and although I worried about mozzies, I didn’t see a single one. It was tiny, but the bed was comfortable and the aircon and fan kept it cool. The food at the restaurant was good and great value. The staff seemed to be friends or family, and they were all super friendly. A great find!
