U-Sa is a lovely, hardworking owner who seems happy to help with anything. She also runs a bar on Charlie Beach, where she makes excellent smoothies, so keep an eye out for the white parasols. The two bungalows sit right by the water on Koh Mook’s southeast coast, in a truly idyllic spot. They’re spacious, spotless, and everything worked properly. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the town centre.

We spent six nights in the large room with two double beds and really enjoyed it. It’s in a quiet spot, but motorbikes are available, so getting to restaurants or beaches is easy. Everything felt fairly new and was in good condition. Usar was a lovely, welcoming host, and even helped us sort out trouble with speedboat tickets we’d booked incorrectly. There were other kids around for our children to play with. Highly recommend staying here.

This seems like a good fit for anyone who wants quiet and nature. My bungalow had a roomy veranda with a small table and two chairs, and both rooms were well lit. Inside, there was a big comfortable bed, bedside tables with lamps and outlets on both sides, AC with a remote, a fridge, a kettle with water and coffee, and a large wardrobe, though no safe. The bathroom was spacious and had shampoo and soap, but the water pressure was very weak. The owner greeted me warmly and offered a welcome drink. I only saw her again four days later, when I was leaving. There’s a small shop about 50 metres away with basic supplies, scooter rentals for 200 baht a day, and tuk-tuks. The two bungalows are a long way from the landing area, so you’ll need a tuk-tuk, which costs 50 baht per person. They’re also away from the town centre, with no beach nearby. Charlie Beach is a 20-minute walk or a five-minute tuk-tuk ride away, but it was quite dirty, despite having loungers and umbrellas. Most restaurants are over a kilometre away. As usual here, a licence doesn’t seem to be needed for a scooter, but remember that people drive on the left.

It’s a quiet spot about halfway around the island, with a few nice restaurants close by and everything within a 20-minute walk if you feel like it. The hostess was very friendly and could arrange things for us, and we got two bottles of water each day. The room was nice, the bed was great, and the price felt excellent for what we got. Our one real gripe was the very weak water pressure. A shower felt more like rinsing off, though luckily the beach is always nearby 😝

The bungalow was spacious, spotless, fairly new, and came with a kettle, fridge, air conditioning, and a terrace. For this price, we weren’t expecting luxury. The setting felt authentic and away from big tourist crowds, with a sea view, though the water there isn’t suitable for swimming. Charlie Beach, the island’s only beach that’s inviting for a swim, is easy to reach, as is the main town. There are two bungalows of this type. Usa was easily the most welcoming person we met during several weeks in Thailand. She arranged a scooter and our transfers and onward travel, then even came with us to the ferry. We’d come back in a heartbeat and wholeheartedly recommend staying here. The only thing to fault was the low water pressure, which is common on Thai islands.
