The pool was one of our favourite parts. Even when the resort seemed busy, it felt peaceful and uncrowded, and we never waited for a sunbed or restaurant table. The pool has one consistent depth that suited our older children, with a smaller one for little kids. We spent much of our four days in the water. The clean beach, shaded by coconut trees, was beautiful. Staff were very accommodating despite the language barrier, and the food was delicious. You can eat by the pool too. Restaurant prices are a little above local places, but the quality and convenience were good. The resort is a long walk from the main local restaurant area in the heat, and very dark at night, so we used tuk-tuks when we could. It doesn’t offer trip booking, laundry, or a mini shop, though island convenience stores cover the basics. Our huge family room had a big bathroom with double sinks and two showers, plus working air-con and a ceiling fan. Housekeeping kept it spotless every day. Hot water was intermittent even after a technician came, but it didn’t affect us much. The spacious balcony easily fit four. We missed having a place to hang wet clothes, more wardrobe space, and an iron to borrow. Before arrival, poor communication through Booking.com and email left us worried the booking hadn’t gone through or that there’d be extra charges for the children. Everything was fine when we got there, and the friendly, relaxed, well-staffed resort more than made up for the stress. Reception closes at 8pm, with no staff visible after that, and the island gets very quiet around 9pm, which may matter depending on what kind of holiday you want. We’d definitely come back. Better pre-arrival communication would prevent that unnecessary worry.

We liked Pawapi’s smaller, friendlier feel compared with the more luxe Silvai and the more basic resorts farther west. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and after extending our booking, we spent a full week there. For a beachside bungalow on the island, it seemed the best mix of vibe and value. There are simple units for two and larger one-room options for a small family. The resort has some rough edges. The city-side entrance is frankly horrible; if you don’t have much luggage, walking along the beach from the pier is a better option. Like much of koh muk, lovely spots sit beside less polished areas. The beach is a 7/10, with a little rubbish and old longtail boat moorings, though the beach on the other side is much nicer and just about a two-minute walk away. Breakfast coffee and drink choices could be better for the price. The resort is apparently due for a major renovation around June 2026, so it’ll be interesting to see what they do. For a visit, I’d split the stay between here and somewhere nearer Charlie beach, perhaps Mountainview. Koh Muk itself is lovely.

We had five wonderfully relaxing days and nights here. The friendly, smiling staff made us feel welcome, and manager Sam checked in most mornings to see how things were going. It was our first time at this resort, though our third visit to Koh Mook. We booked beachfront accommodation, room 301, and were happy with it: clean and spacious, with good breakfasts. My only small complaint was the all-in-one toilet seat, whose lid wouldn’t stay up🤪!! If we come to Mook a fourth time, we’d definitely try to stay here again. It was one of our favourite places on our five-week trip😊👍🏼😁.

Pawapi was a pleasant surprise after I’d read mixed reviews online, and we had a great time. Our large room had everything we needed, including a comfortable bed, strong air-conditioning, and a lovely view. The resort has a private beach, which was great. Breakfast was sufficient, with fresh pancakes and eggs cooked to order. It’s close to Main Street, about five minutes from the port by taxi or a ten-minute walk.

We’ve stayed here over New Year two years running, and love the setting, staff, pool, beach, location, and layout of the buildings. There’s a lot to enjoy, though a small island has limited resources, so some things need patience. The breakfast is basic but fine, with fruit, yogurt, eggs made to order, toast, bacon, hotdogs, salad, coffee, and tea. In our villa, the toilet sometimes wouldn’t flush until staff helped, the indoor shower pressure was poor (the outdoor shower worked), and the door handle had to wait for spare parts. There isn’t hot water, though that didn’t bother us much. Better beds, plumbing, shower pressure, hot water, and fresh-squeezed juice at breakfast would make a big difference.
