Thapwarin Resort-Green Hotel

The beachfront bungalow worked so well for us and our two children, ages 2 and 4. It was spacious, pretty, and had a good mosquito net. We also loved the breakfast and dinner, and there are plenty of pleasant hotel restaurants and bars nearby. Thapwarin gave us the best stay we’ve had in Thailand, even after trying many 3-, 4-, and 5-star hotels. The beach, rooms, and staff were all fantastic. We wished we could stay longer and will definitely come back.

On our second visit, we were lucky enough to see loads of wildlife: an otter, lizards, lovely birds, spiders, turtles, and a dugong. The hotel is close to the sea but still has that feeling of being in the jungle. Great rooms and a really good breakfast too. We’d definitely return again.

After the crowds and noise of Krabi, this quiet island felt like paradise. The beach was clean and beautiful, the water crystal clear, and there were very few noisy boats. Everyone at the calm, welcoming resort was friendly and smiling. We loved the food selection, especially the pasta, pizza, and other international dishes, and breakfast had both served items and a buffet with everything we wanted. Our beachfront bungalow had an incredible view. I also appreciated the eco choices, with no single-use plastic or artificial straws.

If you want a quiet, natural bit of paradise, this little resort on a tiny island is a great fit. The stretch of sandy beach was the most beautiful I’ve seen, and over six days the view kept changing with the sky, clouds, and sun. The staff are super friendly, the rooms comfortable, and there seems to be no end of small places to eat along the beach. Just know what you’re signing up for: it’s not all-inclusive or a Pataya-style party spot, and wind crabs and sand can get into your shoes or between your toes. I really didn’t want to leave.
