The room was clean and comfortable, though a little worn and dated, and the hotel has a nice pool. It's a convenient location, about 10 minutes from the beach, with a KFC and 7/11 across the road. The female staff were kind and friendly. Most of the male staff came across as rude and unhappy at work, and shouldn't stay in those jobs if they don't want to work. Our shower head was clogged, and the tap water didn't seem very clean. I'd bring a filtered shower head. Ours had turned completely dark after four days of use. We paid 800 THB per night in April, during shoulder season, and I don't think this hotel is worth anything close to its high-season rates.
The location was the one clear plus, with a 7-Eleven right outside. The stay itself was deeply disappointing. Our rooms felt dated and cramped, much smaller than expected, and the property seemed more like a 2-star hotel than what the online presentation suggested. My 2-year-old became ill and vomited in the room, which we cleaned up with two small towels. The hotel charged us about 350 Baht for dirtying the mats. That felt horrible, insensitive, and exploitative. They also only provide two small bottles of water a day. At 10 pm I asked for another bottle and even offered to pay, but they refused and told me to go out and buy it myself. We were charged for simple pool floaties too, adding to the feeling of being nickel-and-dimed. Between the rigid policies, extra charges, room quality, and lack of compassion, I wouldn't return or recommend it.
The property is old and nowhere near a 4-star standard. My room faced other buildings, with no view, and there wasn't any place for luggage except the floor. The front desk staff didn't smile and treated us like unwanted work. Expect only the bare minimum of functional service. The listing said check-in was at 2.00 pm, but I waited 15 minutes in a hot lobby without even fans. The room was ready, yet nobody told me; I had to go back to the counter. They required a 3000 Bhat deposit, which made me feel they trusted customers not at all. The receipt was a flimsy, coupon-sized slip with no hotel printing on it. This is the only hotel in Thailand I've rated one star; I've given all the others five. I won't recommend it.
I love Kata more than Patong. The hotel was affordable through agoda, and the staff were really friendly. It's a little far from the beach, but they cleaned and tidied the room every day. I loved staying here.
The rooms were clean and the people were kind. The hotel is near walking-street food and bars, and there are beach shuttles three times a day. The pool was under maintenance while we were there, but they offered a service from 11 - 14 with free snacks and lunch to make up for it. That was nice.
