Impiana Private Villas Kata Noi

We paid extra for an early check-in, but were given an old room without running water. Housekeeping soon woke us by banging loudly on doors, and we had to move rooms. Loud music kept going even after the move. What made it worse was staff laughing at our situation instead of helping. Nobody apologized for the cleaning crew's disturbance or the poor facilities. Extremely bad experience for a major hotel. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

We had a private room with our own pool and beautiful views over Kata Noi beach. The setting felt secluded, and some great restaurants were an easy walk away. The hotel also arranged to have a motorbike brought to us. Staff were kind and accommodating with rides, reservations, and recommendations, and Aricha was always there when we needed help. My wife and I had a wonderful stay, and I'd recommend the place to anyone visiting Phuket.

Breakfast was a letdown, with little variety and poor quality. The coffee was bad, and even though it was included, we ate out every day. There also seemed to be too few staff, which affected the service. When we complained, housekeeping did come to clean, but afterward we found a dead cockroach in the room. Cleanliness was shocking from the start. There was a lot of hair in the shower, smelly sheets, visibly dirty floors, and a broken tissue box. The walls were cracked and in bad shape, and so was the bed. At checkout, staff inspected the room as soon as we asked for help with luggage, as if they suspected us of stealing. That felt uncomfortable and unprofessional. We were on our honeymoon, but the stay was stressful and nowhere near the luxury we expected. Apart from the sea view, nothing justified the price or the 5-star label. Impiana Private Villas Kata Noi calls itself a 5-star resort, but this was one of the worst hotel stays I've had. I wouldn't recommend it, especially for anyone seeking a luxury or honeymoon stay. At best it's an average hotel with a good view.

The breakfast came as three set menus with optional sides. We appreciated being allowed to choose just the items we wanted, to avoid wasting food, though there was about a 70 percent chance of getting something different. The food was okay overall. The view and the size of our garden villa and pool were lovely, but the rest felt underwhelming for a 5-star villa at this price. Reception felt cold, without the Thai hospitality we'd expected. The room's upkeep was poor: torn sheets and sundeck mattress, loose pool tiles, rusty pool flooring, a very stained couch with mismatched covers, and bathroom fittings coming apart. There was even a random study table in the bathroom, which made us laugh. During our three-night stay there were two weddings, and the wedding area looked straight into our garden and pool. Taller plants could've given everyone more privacy. The view was the only saving grace. For this price, there are better places in Phuket, including Kata.
