Kata Place Hotel

The staff are super friendly and the hotel is great, but locals next door set off very loud fireworks right beside it every night. For two weeks, the blasts woke my kids up every night. I wouldn’t recommend booking this for a family.

We were moved to a better room unexpectedly during our three night stay, just as the season was starting. The staff were great, the rooms were beautifully sized, and the rooftop pool was fabulous. The beach is 1.2km away, but that walk was no issue for us. Being a little away from the shore also meant local restaurants that felt friendlier and cost a lot less. A delightful stay at Kata Place Hotel, definitely recommend it! 🙏🏽

The rooftop pool was a nice feature, and its 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. hours worked well. Breakfast was limited, with instant coffee only. My room experience was much worse: after extending my stay, I had to move over a $3 room-price difference and ended up with a shower that only gave cold water. I know how to use electric heaters at home, so this wasn’t a case of not knowing how. They should have known the shower was faulty, since it couldn’t have broken overnight. There was no apology or explanation, and I was angry. That’s why I rated the room so low.

The location was peaceful but still close enough to the busier part of Kata Beach. I liked the rooftop pool, and the rooms were clean and tidy. The staff were very polite and helpful. I’d book here again. Thank you, Stephen.
