Pension Zum Ross

Really good value, with friendly service for such a low price. The beach is very close too.

The standout for me was Daa, the administrator. She was warm, polite, attentive, and ready to help with anything. I haven't come across that kind of care from staff elsewhere. Our room faced the bars and restaurants and had no balcony, but the music stopped by 1:00 a.m. at the latest and didn't keep us from sleeping. Mornings were surprisingly quiet. The room itself was small but lovely and comfortable, with soft, plush bedding. Housekeeping came daily, changed the towels, and replenished the fridge; the sheets were changed every other day. The air conditioning worked well, and there were plenty of European-style outlets, ceiling lights, bedside lamps, and a useful workspace. The bathroom was roomy, with blue fixtures, reliable hot water, and a shower that felt like a massage. The stairs are steep, though that's clearly stated. The location is great, with lots of fruit sellers, massage places, and restaurants nearby, close to Karon Beach.

The best part is how close it is to the beach. Step outside and there’s food, massage, and a bar right there. Wi-Fi worked in our room, the receptionist was very friendly, and the daily cleaning was good. The ground-floor bar was closed. A balcony room is probably the better choice since you hear less of the street cafe. For the price, it’s a good hotel.

We came with our son, and the hosts were so lovely, friendly, helpful, and clean. The beach is only a two-minute walk away, with great bars, restaurants, and excellent food all around. I’d happily recommend this guesthouse.
