Phoenix Hotel Karon Beach

We had a nice 10-day stay. The rooms were clean and good, and the workers were kind. The sea is about five minutes away on foot, with restaurants and 7 elevens close by. Breakfast was okay: eggs were made fresh, though there was no bacon. There isn't a bar at the hotel or by the pool.

The cleaners seemed to be the only staff doing much. The front desk people were miserable and unhelpful from the start, sitting around watching TikTok. Our room was tiny, and we had to pay extra for a bed for my 16-year-old daughter. Both pool areas were small and scruffy, almost like a building site, and one really needed cleaning. I just put up with it because I couldn't be bothered to complain, and I think they're used to that. Would I stay again? No. There are better places in Karon. This isn't a one-star place, never mind four-star.

We were left with two kids at this place for four days after an agent falsely promised it was a four-star property. Our tiny room barely worked for one person, let alone a family. Basic requests all got a flat “No”: no extra towels, blankets, pillows, or plates. Breakfast was a joke, and the pool felt like a bathtub, with no towels or safety supervision. Staff wouldn't help with luggage or offer support at checkout, and despite so many empty rooms the hotel felt like a ghost place. The experience was horrible. Don't trust the positive reviews or waste your money here.

The rooftop pool was a real highlight, with beautiful views of the sea and the landscape, and Karon Beach is only a few minutes away on foot. The hotel is attractive and well cared for. Our double room had an extra single bed, which was very comfortable for me. Rooms are cleaned each day and towels are changed, with two towels per person. The bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, and a courtesy kit. Breakfast was good, with both sweet and savory choices.
