Sleepy Station - Hostel

The breakfast had a great variety each morning, and every staff member was friendly and welcoming. We had our own private room, and it was a wonderful stay. The woman working breakfast and reception in the mornings was a real joy, her cheerfulness brightened the whole visit. Our room initially had only a transparent roller blind, so we asked whether they had a sheet to block the early light. She arranged to have a proper curtain rod and curtains installed. That thoughtful effort made all the difference. We’d absolutely come back.

Our worst hostel so far. The room had no air circulation and smelled damp and musty. Bathrooms were filthy, very humid, and smelled of sewage. The showers and toilets are tiny, it was hard even to sit properly on the toilet. My friend found worms in her shower, and the sinks were clogged. The lights by the beds stopped working too. The front desk person was constantly away, so we always had to wait. Wouldn’t recommend.

Sleep Station is clean and tucked down a quiet side street, with shops, restaurants, and the beach still close by. Our room felt cramped for eight people, and the beds weren’t comfortable. There were no windows either, though luckily only four of us were staying in the room while we were there.

Breakfast came with the stay and was served at a nearby restaurant, with an amazing range of food. The location is handy, about a 15-minute walk to the beach. Our standard family room was clean and spacious, with four beds. It was on the first floor without a balcony, which didn’t bother us. We also appreciated the free water each day and in the kitchen. A comfortable, easy place to stay.
