The location worked well for me, with Karon Beach only a short walk away and shops and restaurants nearby. The pools are on the small side, though they’re kept up nicely, and the rooftop one is a great extra. My room was spacious, comfortable, clean, and well maintained, and the hotel feels modern and reasonably priced. Zar Zar at reception made a real difference. She welcomed me warmly, made check-in easy, and kindly upgraded my room. When I added a few days to my holiday, she sorted that out smoothly too. She was professional, caring, and genuinely kind. Everyone I met was lovely and doing their best. Breakfast has a decent mix of sweet and savory food. Sometimes things ran out and empty jars sat there for a while, so I had to ask for refills. The breakfast team seemed too small for the busy periods, though, and I don’t blame the staff for that. With a bit more organization and support at breakfast, the hotel would be even better. I’d happily come back and recommend it to anyone wanting a friendly, comfortable stay near Karon Beach.

The staff were friendly, and that was the one bright spot for us. We wanted to pay for the nights we’d stayed, leave, and move hotels, but getting reimbursed was difficult. Instead, we were offered another room while waiting for a decision, so we’re still here. Does this sound like a five-star stay? Make up your own mind. Thailand has plenty of wonderful hotels, and I’d avoid the Proud Karon Beach Phuket. Our first room looked straight at a wall in the courtyard. The bathroom’s sliding door wouldn’t shut properly, so I practically had to leave the room when my mom needed to use it. Fittings were coming apart. We got moved, but the supposedly clean replacement room still had hair everywhere. WiFi barely reached the rooms and kept dropping out. Finding your way around the buildings was confusing, with too few signs. The rooftop pool looked abandoned, as did the complex generally. You have to walk through a smelly car park to get to the gym. Breakfast was cramped, food kept running out, and the choices were very limited for a place claiming five-star status. People had to wait for food. A child at the table beside us nearly ate a mouldy bun before his mother spotted it, and staff quickly took it away. Unbelievable. At night, a loud group outside kept us from falling asleep, and the hotel did nothing. People also spent time drinking and hanging out in the smoking area between two buildings. The place advertises itself as five-star, but it was nothing like that.

The location made it easy to get to attractions and public transport, and breakfast brought a nice range of fresh local dishes. Service at meals was attentive. What really made the stay feel personal were the handwritten notes, fast replies to questions, and a surprise welcome gift. We felt appreciated as guests. The room was spacious, spotless, and had modern amenities. The bed was very comfortable, and the view from the window was breathtaking. Staff greeted us with warm, genuine smiles from the start, and the front desk handled check-in smoothly while going out of its way to meet our requests. The stay exceeded our expectations. We’ll definitely return, and I’d recommend it to anyone after a luxurious but welcoming experience.

Natcha, honey, and the night shift guy with braces were especially helpful. Everyone was polite and respectful, and the customer service was excellent. The hotel was well maintained, and we had a really pleasant stay. Such a great experience, definitely recommend it. Thank you.
