Khao Kho Bay Bay Resort

We had stomachaches and fevers while we were there, and the staff were really helpful in finding medicine for us. The room was cute, Phile, and clean, with a superb foggy view of the pine trees. The road in can be very steep, so use the route the hotel recommends. Don’t miss the Moo kra ra (Grilled pork set) at dinner. I’m taking half a point off the breakfast. It’s great for a local hotel, but to be fair as a 5 star hotel, I have to deduct a little. 💚 We’ll definitely come back.

The room is huge and has a breathtaking view. It’s meant for two, but I think a family of four with two kids could fit. You’ll need transport to get there, though the drive is worth it. Staff were super friendly, and when we hit a language barrier we used Google translate. The room faces the sunset, and evenings are cool. One downside, or maybe an upside depending on how you see it, is that the TV channels had poor connectivity, so we had no TV that night. Worth the stay, and I’ll come back.

The view couldn’t make up for the problems. Our room was clearly run down, with missing toilet floor tiles. The sliding balcony door wouldn’t close all the way, and the balcony doors had no locks. The main door knob was faulty and looked like the room had been broken into, with a botched repair to the lock. Security felt nonexistent. I went to reception several times during the night, but nobody was there for hours, and there’s no gate.

Our family room was big, and the scenery from it was really nice. The staff were very friendly.
