Cousin Resort

We stayed for five nights, and this was definitely my first and last time here. The rooms are okay for size, but the resort has clearly seen better days. The AC sounds like a boat engine, ants and mosquitoes were all over the rooms and terrace, water pressure was almost zero, and it wasn’t very clean. Apart from the restaurant staff, the service was horrible. People were arrogant and impolite, and didn’t seem willing to help unless you accepted the high prices they charged for everything compared with local prices you can find everywhere. It felt more like a scam to me. The Thai friendliness and service thinking weren’t there. If you want a cheap but still comfortable stay, keep away from this “Hotel”. There are nicer and cheaper places elsewhere.

The location is good, but the front desk staff were unpleasant and treated guests rudely. They made me feel like an unwanted, uninvited guest. I’ve never encountered that before, and got the impression they were doing the job as a punishment. The room, bathroom, water heater, air con, and everything else are old and outdated. We found a cockroach in the room, which was unpleasant. The bathrooms aren’t well equipped, and there are no hairdryers if you need one. The hotel provides water only on the first day, then you have to buy your own.

The location is excellent, close to the beaches and city center. The room was dark, with no natural ventilation, and the old air conditioner was very noisy. There were lots of mosquitoes, even coming out of the wardrobe, and there were no curtains on the back window. We’d recommend staying only for a short time.

The staff made us feel welcome and were happy to arrange transfers and store our luggage. It’s a lovely little resort, with the beach and restaurants easy to reach on foot.
