Chai's massage-place recommendation is worth following. We also liked the beach nearby, which was pleasant and not crowded. Check the tide before heading out, since rocks appear at low tide. The swimming areas farther south, in front of some resorts, stay mostly clear of rocks even then. There are several restaurants within walking distance, though checking reviews first may save you from a disappointing meal. We spent two weeks here and loved the personal care and attention to detail. The room was very clean, breakfast was fantastic, and the service was outstanding. Each morning Chai made us a different local breakfast, though Western food was an option too. We stuck with local dishes and enjoyed trying something new each day. The portions kept us full until dinner, and it was a lovely way to experience Thai food.

The beach was lovely and had very few tourists. We spent most days out of the area, but if you want more luxury, Sofietel is right beside Al-humdu. It has a large pool and garden, a spa, and several restaurants. You can use the pool if you visit the spa or buy food and drinks there. For New Year, you can book a table at Sofietel and celebrate there. The hotel was exactly as shown in the pictures, and it was the cleanest place I've stayed. The two brothers who own it run things with help from their parents. They asked what we wanted for breakfast and made it for us every day. You can also ask them to prepare lunch or dinner. Their mother makes the best Thai food.

The owner really made us feel at home in this lovely, quiet area. He cooked curry for us, brought out fresh coconuts from his own trees, and gave us helpful advice and recommendations during our stay. Thanks, Chai!

We woke up to the forest sounds, just a couple of minutes from the beach. The place was very clean, breakfast was excellent, and the owner even got us a discount at a nearby massage spa. Such a nice stay!

Friendly, welcoming hosts and a comfortable, family-run hotel. It's 30 metres from the beach and 20 metres from a 711. Great value for the money.
