Anyavee Krabi Beach Resort

The location worked really well, right by the beach and not too far from the main road. You can also set off on boat trips straight from the beach. We booked at the last minute and weren't expecting much, but ended up having a very good stay. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well equipped, and the internet was fast and reliable enough for me to work every day. The staff were helpful and always around. To me, it deserves a better score than 4.2 or 7.7 on booking.

The rooms were lovely, with thoughtful extras like flip flops, lotion, towels, and even a beach bag. Teddy made us a congratulations and happy birthday poster, and the staff arranged whatever we needed. Rehanna and the rest of the staff were wonderful too. Teddy looked after us from arrival until he helped us get a taxi to the dock. They even put our beds together for our honeymoon, and we felt like family. It was a wonderful first experience of Thailand. The resort sits on a beautiful beach, and you can rent private longtail boats for the day to visit the gorgeous islands, with monkeys too. The food was authentic and delicious, with other cuisines available if you wanted something familiar. We loved the rustic feel, the smaller number of people, and all the kindness.

The next morning there was no electricity and no water, so I checked out at 10:00 AM without being able to shower. I had already been unable to shower the night before because the room had no hot water. After I asked a staff member to speak to the manager about a refund, they said I could get an answer when I returned for my luggage. When I came back, a different staff member helped me, but neither person had an answer or a solution. I paid $190 for one night, roughly $200, after arriving around 6:00 PM from a long trip from Koh Phangan. It was my fifth trip to Thailand, and my first experience of service this poor at a hotel at that price. I was only staying one night because I had a flight to Bangkok from Krabi the next day. At the restaurant, four or five waiters were dismissive and laughed at nearly every request, which made it uncomfortable to ask for anything. This is the first time I've asked a hotel for a refund. If they wouldn't give a full one, I wanted at least part of my money back because basic services weren't working. There are much better hotels nearby for the same price or less. Things can go wrong anywhere, but this hotel failed completely at handling the problems.

We spent 12 days at Anyavee and had a great time. The room was clean and really spacious, and the staff were so friendly. The location was stunning, with a beautiful beach just steps away and gorgeous sunsets every evening. We'd definitely come back!
