Isle Beach Resort

It’s very quiet here, which I liked, and the people working here were polite. The pool is small but okay, and breakfast is very minimal. For the price, the stay is fine, though the lack of room to unpack was really annoying.

You can step across the street to reach the beach, and that’s easily the best thing about this hotel. The rooms are very old and need renovation. Breakfast is basic, much like at many 2-3 star hotels in Thailand, acceptable but nothing special. Service also needs work: staff struggle with English, it can be slow, and we waited about 10 minutes at reception several times because nobody was there. It often seemed like employees were juggling jobs such as room cleaning and property care, which affected service. The location helps the experience, but the hotel needs to improve the rooms and service.

The bungalows are old and don’t look like the website photos. They need some renovation. Breakfast is very basic, staff speak little English, and there’s no reception after 6pm.

The beach is just across the road, and it’s the nicest one in Klongmuang. The place is basic, made up of several small huts, with a little pool. Rooms were fairly clean, the AC worked well, and the staff were friendly. It’s also an easy walk to an ATM, a 7-eleven, and restaurants. We barely heard the Mosque that other guests mentioned. But those beds were a real fight: the mattresses felt a century old, with loads of stiff metal springs, and our bodies lost. Towels and sheets were torn, and the bathroom needs updating. I wasn’t expecting a Ritz Carlton for $80 a night, but this was still a letdown.
