Klong Muang Inn

A good base for a longer budget stay, especially if you're exploring Krabi by motorbike. It's close to the beach, the price is cheap, and the hostel is very clean with AC in the rooms. The owners are friendly, though they aren't always there in person. You can reach them on WhatsApp and sort out check-in remotely. I'd recommend it and would come back.

Our room for five was very small, but it had what we needed. The seaside was just a two-minute walk away. There are good Thai massage spots and places to eat nearby, plus a 7 eleven close by. There's coffee inside, though we found great coffee just around the corner too. We booked a kayaking trip nearby and really recommend it. Ao Nang is only a few minutes away as well.

Being right across the road from the beach was a real plus. It's a natural beach and felt less crowded than others. Tours were harder to arrange, though, since many operators pick up from their own hotels and either skip ours because it's too far from Ao Nang or charge extra. The staff were very friendly and easy to contact, and check-in and checkout were simple. Free bottled water was in the fridge by the entrance, and shampoo and shower gel in the shared shower were a nice surprise. Our room had no window and the duvets had no covers. We could also hear the front door's smart lock every time someone came or went, since our room was directly behind reception, which disturbed us while sleeping.

We were a family of four in a compact room, but it was practical, clean, and quiet. The lovely beach is just across the road, about 30 seconds away, and entry is secured with a keypad. A solid budget choice, highly recommended.
