We spent three nights here over New Year's Eve, and arrived 45 minutes before check-in. They gave us a room right away. If it hadn’t been ready, there were comfortable chairs in the lobby. The staff were smiling and very helpful. Breakfast was good, with a different selection of hot Thai dishes each morning. The yogurt had big pieces of fruit and tasted nice. The fitness center seemed to have what you need. The pool is 1.5 meters deep throughout. There were five sun loungers plus extra chairs and tables, and we always managed to get a lounger when we wanted one. An adult life jacket for non-swimmers is kept in the old pool bar. The pool area goes into shade around 11:30. We also visited the sauna and jacuzzi on the 5th floor, where we picked up pool towels. Our room was lovely and spacious, with sturdy older furniture showing some wear that gave it charm. Since the hotel is old, bring extra sockets if you want to charge phones beside the bed. It has a nice old-school patina. I’d happily stay again.

So far, I’m really liking this place. It’s been around town for a while, but still good. The room is comfy and clean, with everything I need. Right in the center, secure car parking, and lately a very good price.

For that room price, having no hot water for showers at all times of day and night is a deal breaker. It was winter, with outside temperatures around 12-14 deg.C. at night and early morning, and still no hot water. This seems deliberate to save money on the water heater, not a maintenance problem. Some online booking pages even have a small notice saying the hotel no longer provides hot water 24 hours a day. Everything else is okay. The place is old, the fridge is very small, and the bed is hard, but those were still acceptable.

I had a quiet two-day stay, though I know people’s experiences can differ. The first-floor lobby staff were especially friendly, and there are convenience stores on both sides with lots of restaurants nearby. Glad I stayed here, and I’d like to come again.
