KK Centrum Hotel

I used to rate this place four stars and have stayed at least five times over the last ten years. My last visit before this one was four years ago, and it’s sad to see how things have changed. The setup is really cool, and the people running it used to be very nice, but the rooms now look old and shabby. There’s been no maintenance in those four years, not even a new coat of paint. Most of the rooms, except one, are rented by the month to Thai workers, so it seems they’re no longer set up for tourists. I probably won’t stay again, though it was nice while it lasted. The bed and pillow were comfortable, the AC worked well, and the hot water was fine. But breakfast is gone, and there’s no service. You call, someone comes to collect the 500 baht per night, and that’s the last you see of anyone. On the second day there was no fresh water or towels.

Think of it as a cozy little hotel, not a fancy five-star place. The rooms are good and come with a microwave, and the staff and owner are nice. It’s quiet, tucked on a small street, and still close to shops and places to eat. Having your own car would be great. I like being able to make breakfast exactly how I want it. There are plenty of good things here that you won’t find in a five-star hotel, and five nights cost about the same as one night at a fancy one.

A simple, quiet place that feels like home. The owner has a really big heart.
