The Lake Hotel

We paid 3200 baht for two nights in a suite, but were first given a small, dirty room. After I complained, they moved us into the suite we had paid for. That room was also so dirty I had to complain again. They sent a maid to sweep the floor, haha. The website shows beautiful rooms, but what we saw was rundown, dirty, with water leaking everywhere. Breakfast was advertised as delicious and plentiful from 6-10am. We arrived at 9am to find almost everything gone: one egg and two of the five Thai dishes remained, while three trays were empty and not refilled. We made the mistake of paying for both nights in advance. Staff were unpleasant, and we were glad to drive away. Stay away, be warned.

I was on the 3rd floor, and the room wasn't as clean as I expected. The floor was dusty, there were beer cans on the balcony, no small towel for my hair, and no light bulb in the room. I also saw staff using a tablecloth to clean everything in the breakfast area, including the fruit juice dispenser. That was scary to see. For me, it wasn't worth the price.

We had two rooms for our family, and in both, the shower, toilet, and bathroom basin were leaking. The bathrooms were dirty, with old mould everywhere. The furniture veneer was peeling, and the old air conditioning barely worked. This is a very old, rundown hotel that needs renovation or demolishment, and it's definitely not worth the exorbitant prices they charge. Give this place a miss. It should just be demolished.

The location is decent, about 15 minutes from the airport and right off a major roadway. Breakfast was alright, and the service seemed solid, though nothing to write home about. But the showerhead and toilet sprayer were grimy, the shower door wouldn't close properly, and the porch privacy curtain had been taken down, so we couldn't really use the hottub. The bed was firm and the sheets felt cheap. These wouldn't have bothered me as much if I hadn't requested the most expensive room and paid what felt like a pretty penny compared with hotel prices in Thailand.
