Aana Resort & Spa

AANA Resort & Spa Koh Chang was a peaceful, relaxing place surrounded by nature, and it was kept in very good condition. We found lots of breakfast choices, from Western food to traditional Thai options. A free little boat took guests to the beach area, which was a nice experience, and there were many restaurants nearby. The rooms were clean, housekeeping came daily, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. There are two swimming pools as well. A beautiful spot for a relaxing stay in Koh Chang.

The room was lovely, with a beautiful design, and the resort has a relaxing, attractive feel. Getting around was easy, and the location isn't too far from the main attractions. A small sleep issue: there's no curtain on the balcony door, so the room gets bright early in the morning. Service was decent. There was no one attending the pool, though the staff we met were friendly and welcoming. A pleasant stay, with a few little things that could be improved.

We didn't care for the beach near the hotel, and breakfast wasn't great since we couldn't find what we wanted. Also, be careful with the hotel's travel desk. The husband and wife running it kept offering trips and scooter rentals at higher prices than elsewhere, so ask around about other options on the island. I stayed four nights in a river-view bungalove room. It was spacious enough and the bed was comfortable, but watch out for ants. If you drop even a few crumbs, they take over the room.

The rooms are clean and well maintained, and you can see this resort must once have been operating at its full potential. For the price I paid, it was okay, but it feels quiet now and tired overall. It needs paint, retile work and a deep clean. Some pool areas aren't well maintained, and the swim-up bar is no longer in use or stocked. The phone left there as an alternative way to get service doesn't work either. I was close to rating it four stars, but the missing pool services and facilities brought it down for me.
