Giant Bungalow

The outside looks promising and the location is good, but inside the bungalows felt old and nasty. The foam mattresses were lumpy and sunken, seemed long past their useful life, and hurt my back. There were ants and bugs everywhere. Black flies and mosquitoes were common in the bathroom, and unless you kept its door shut, sewer gas drifted into the room. I was itchy and scratching when lying in bed at night. Just gross. The only thing that saved it from a one star rating was the strong water pressure in both the shower and bidet.

The family running the bungalows made sure my friend and I were happy from the moment we arrived. For about £15 a night, you get an air conditioned room and a family working hard to make guests comfortable. In my view, people leaving bad reviews of the giant bungalows haven’t really stopped to look at what the family is doing. It’s also in a great spot, about 20 minutes by taxi from Lonely Beach, which is a great night out. I’m usually quite difficult to please, but I’ll strongly recommend this place to anyone I know heading to Ko Chang, and I’ll definitely return to Giant Bungalow next year for the son cram festival. The family’s hospitality is the reason. Thanks for reading, this place is a must. Trust me.

The host was very friendly, and the sea sunset view was one of the best. The beach is quite far, but with a motorbike that wasn’t a problem for us. The bungalow is up on a hill, where the air is wonderful.

The waterfalls and trekking routes make this tropical forest lovely to explore, though there isn't enough infrastructure to see most of it.
