The outside of this room looked great, but inside it was awful. The actual owner of the seaside house I’d booked wasn’t there when I arrived, just an employee. She said they were full and wanted to move me to a better house than the seaside one. A nearby neighbor told me rooms here are often oversold. I’d booked about two weeks ahead and already paid, and I didn’t want trouble on my first day and first visit to the island. It was a really bad start. I’d read online that other seaside houses were much better, but she told me this room was very expensive. The lighting was dim, the bathroom was damp and smelled moldy, and its lights kept flickering. Don’t book this house!

We loved our four nights here. The beachfront room was spacious and clean, and we took the kayaks out every day. The dinners on the pier were amazing, especially with the lovely touch of the table with the red tablecloth. The hospitality was top-notch. We’ll definitely return.

For what you pay, the rooms are good quality and the service is excellent. The staff were very helpful during our five-night visit.

The rooms were large, clean, well cared for, and nicely furnished, with a distinctive character that added to their appeal. Breakfast was quite good, with eggs, toast, bacon, and fresh fruit. The restaurant across the road worked well for dinner. Picasjo House is a small hotel run by a local artist, "Jo". His art and pieces by his friends hang on the walls, giving the place a quirky but attractive feel. He had a few extra helpers while we were there. His English could use work, but he communicated well and tried hard to entertain and please good guests. He also offered rides in his pickup truck to nearby beaches or dinner. It’s quiet, aside from the occasional karaoke night at one of the wharf restaurants farther down the bay. The house is on the edge of a mangrove, so there’s no beach, but the dock has a lovely view. Getting there costs quite a bit, around 800-1000 Baht for a taxi around the island. It’s a long ride if you want to be near amenities, but a good fit for a quiet, family-friendly stay.

The island is beautiful, and I’ve been coming here all my life. But on our first night, the owner of Picasjo hotel or his helper took the Benzene out of our boat. I can’t say for sure who did it, but the boat was behind the owner’s house and no one knew it was there except him. He said he thought the Benzene had leaked out, which was why the boat was empty. The hotel next door has a 24-hour security guard watching the street. I’m not sure I’ll ever trust anyone again. I don’t trust this man, stay somewhere else.
