Sea Turtle Hostel - Adults Only

We liked this resort so much that my wife and I added another week to our stay. It’s a great place for families and people of all ages, with a calm, relaxing feel during the day. The resort is pleasantly small, and the beach is lovely and peaceful. There’s natural shade along the beach, plus a beach bar for drinks throughout the day. You can also rent kayaks or SUP boards for a bit of activity. The infinity pool is fantastic, with amazing views. Highly recommend it!

The staff went out of their way to make our holiday pleasant, and the WiFi worked well even down at the beach and pools. We also enjoyed the restaurant above the beach, open throughout the day. Breakfast had plenty of choice, from Thai dishes and freshly made omelettes and eggs to salads, fruit, toast and cereal. You could order cocktails and food on the beach, rent a kayak or SUP, or get a massage by the shore. The resort never felt crowded. It’s not very big, and guests spread themselves between the pools and beach. Our bungalow was tucked into the green cliff above the coast, with a lovely view of trees and sea. We could see the water and sunset from bed, and had a small terrace with two loungers. The private beach was clean and beautiful, with enough sun loungers for everyone. The infinity pool was gorgeous too, especially at sunset.

The location right on the beach was great, and I really enjoyed the place. Maintenance has slipped, though, and more upkeep would improve the hotel. At one point monkeys blocked me from getting into my room. They were aggressive and wouldn’t move easily, so I had to wait for staff to come deal with them. It was pretty unsettling, and the hotel needs to address it.

My budget room was across the road from the main hotel. It was large, with an enormous bed, a separate toilet and shower room, hot water, a fridge and a safe. There were some damp patches, and the room, like the rest of the hotel, looked tired and due for a makeover. Still, it was kept very clean, we got two bottles of water a day, and the staff were polite and very helpful. The hotel sits on a lovely beach with plenty of loungers. The pool is on the upper level, reached by steep steps or the driveway at the back. The small restaurant is up that way too, so you need to be fairly fit and mobile. A few bars, restaurants, 7/11 and scooter rental shops are only a few minutes’ walk away.
