Baan Rim Nam

We returned to Koh Chang for a second visit and were really glad we chose Baan Rim Nam. The rooms have loads of space, including plenty of surfaces for unpacking, so you don’t feel as if you’re living out of a suitcase. You’re right by the river and only a two minute walk from the beach, a great combination. Ian was fantastic with transport to and from the island and with anything else we needed. He knows the right people to get things sorted quickly. We’ll definitely be back.

After ten years away, I worried a little when I heard the old rooms had gone, since they had so much character. The new rooms turned out to be much more comfortable, and the river room looking over the water was pure bliss. I also really like the new logo and branding, the sustainable toiletries, and the free water refill. Ian and Mam are just as kind, relaxed and easygoing as I remembered. For me, this is the best place on Koh Chang.

We loved every minute here. The room was spotless, beautifully put together, and had a modern, calming bathroom; the bed was incredibly comfortable too. The whole place has a charming feel, from the entrance to its breathtaking riverside setting, like walking into a painting. Ian and his team made us feel so welcome and shared lots of useful tips about the area, nearby restaurants and the island. This was our favorite stay in Thailand, and they made the trip unforgettable. We can’t recommend it enough.

I could happily spend the whole day watching the river here. It’s a lovely spot to sit back and unwind. The beach and a few restaurants are about a five minute walk away, while the main shopping area is roughly fifteen minutes on foot. A scooter makes that trip quicker.
