The warmth of the family here is what I’ll remember most. From our arrival, they made us feel welcome and looked after in a way that felt personal and sincere. The owners’ care made it easy to relax and feel safe. Eve House also has a wonderfully calm setting, with lush jungle, birds, and the gentle sounds of island life. Mornings felt grounding, like time had slowed down. It’s a special place that stays with you after leaving. I already feel like I’ll come back 🙏

We felt safe from insects on rainy nights thanks to the window nets, while still getting that jungle atmosphere. The rooms have been freshly renovated to a good standard, and the beach is within walking distance. Alin the Eve caffe serves some of the island’s best coffee. The staff were so friendly and helped us through a crisis. Best choice on the island!

My stay here was awful. The dorm felt like a basement left over from the Vietnam War, with 16 beds crammed so close it felt like sharing one bed with a stranger. There are no curtains, no ventilation, no hot water, and no bathroom sockets. I was shocked when I first walked in. For the same price, I’d had amazing stays on nearby islands. The staff were unprofessional, unfriendly, disrespectful, and arrogant. One older man was especially rude. They only take a passport as a deposit, which I’ve never seen elsewhere. I only rented a scooter here because nearby places had none available. The front brake wasn’t working properly, so I had to swap it. My friend had the same problem and changed scooters three times. They didn’t seem to care, just passing them to the next person without fixing anything. Then they tried to charge me twice. After I returned it, they said I hadn’t paid, even though the older man I mentioned had taken my money. I asked them to check their cameras and see me leave it on the table and him take it. They pointed to a sign saying payment comes after the rental. Fine, I hadn’t noticed it, but why take the money in the first place? No apology, nothing. Maybe your workers shouldn’t be high all the time if they’re going to forget who paid for what.

We stayed three nights in two bungalows and had a really bad experience. A snake got into our room, and dogs barked all night. We’re exchange students in Bangkok and respect their culture and way of life, but they used that to their advantage, in our view, and asked us for 3000 bahts (≈ 80€) for what they called damages. The damage was wear and tear that needed fresh paint, but they said it was our responsibility. We’re not wealthy students, and felt taken advantage of by their hypocrisy. Don’t go there. PS: If you rent scooters there, expect them to charge you for wear and tear.
