Angel Lanta Bungalow

The hammock was what made this stay for me. I could spend hours just relaxing in it, and having my own table and chairs to unwind before or after the beach was a big plus. The bungalow was comfortable and had a fridge to keep beer and water cold. The staff were helpful and arranged transport for me to Phuket airport. You do have to walk a little to reach the sandy part of the beach, but the price reflects that. Looking back, I wish I'd booked Angel Lanta Bungalows for my whole stay around the Long Beach area instead of moving here from another place partway through.

We found a bungalow that suited our budget, since they have options at different prices. The family running Angel Lanta and the neighboring bungalows were friendly and accommodating. They helped us arrange motorbikes and can also book tours and transport. The beach is nearby, but the stretch there was quite rocky, so we walked about ten minutes along the coast to find a more comfortable sandy spot.

For the lower price, the air-conditioned bungalow was decent, and the female owner was friendly. I had one cockroach inside and some smaller ones in the outdoor bathroom. The mosquito net had holes, so we used our own. The breakfast area wasn't cozy, and breakfast wasn't a buffet. You could order once, with a fried egg or omelette, two pieces of toast, a little jam and butter, and just one cup of tea or coffee. Noise was the bigger issue, with the water pump and traffic going all night. Overall, though, it was a satisfactory stay.

We spent four nights here as a couple, after booking through Expedia. Our bungalow was clean and came with a fan and fridge, plus two bottles of water. We also had a large gecko for a pet, about 30 cm long and looking like it was smiling. It made some noises, but we thought it was funny. The woman at reception was lovely and could arrange tours, bus tickets, and other things. There's instant coffee and breakfast with eggs cooked different ways. We only ate there once because we fancied something else the other days. I'd recommend it for couples, as it feels cozy.
