Dream Team Beach Resort

We were in room V6, the seaview room. The view was nice, but the kitchen clanged away right next door all day, and there was drilling from room renovations too. The beach is lovely, though quite rocky for swimming, and the tide was low most afternoons. The walls are extremely thin, so we could hear our neighbours talking. The balconies join together, leaving you back to back with the next room. There were rats in the room and ceiling. There are two bathroom floor drains, one in the shower and one beside the toilet. One afternoon I found a drain cover popped open. I thought it was odd, put it back, and went to bed. At 2am I woke to metal rattling and realized a rat was pushing the cover up. We could also hear rats running inside the ceiling all night. At 4am the drain rattled again. In the morning, both covers were across the bathroom. We put water bottles on top during the day, but found them knocked over too. We added more weight, and the rats couldn’t get through the next night, but they were still running around in the ceiling. We had two sleepless nights. Our neighbours also had a rat in their room and had to wait until morning for staff to remove it. The room wasn’t clean when we arrived. The previous guest’s towel was still hanging, the doors and windows were marked with grease or oil, and there was a gross splash mark on the headboard. The aircon wasn’t working, and some floor tiles had come unstuck, with a carpet placed over them. We asked for the aircon to be fixed and were told it needed replacing, but they didn’t have time. They asked us to wait in the room for the engineer, who arrived two hours later. No staff member stayed with us or helped explain the problem. We had to explain it to the engineer ourselves and test the aircon after he fixed it. Nobody from staff came to check on it. There were no staff on site after 8pm. We were told the lobby closed then and shown an emergency number, but we didn’t think to photograph it. Nobody mentioned that the gate would also be locked at 8pm. If you come back from dinner after that, you have to climb the fence and leave your motorbike outside. If you leave for dinner after 8pm, the bike is locked in with no way to get it out. That fence would be difficult to climb for anyone elderly or with a disability. The wifi barely worked, if at all. I won’t stay here again.

The pool and beachfront were the only positives. The staff were polite, but couldn’t seem to help with anything, and after a few polite attempts at reception, there was no communication either. I paid £60 a night for what I thought was a seafront room, but got a family side sea view room instead. I’d paid extra hoping for something better after reading the reviews, and the place felt like it was barely holding together, with parts renovated to a poor standard. Here’s what was missing or left unfixed: shower pressure was poor and it dripped; no TV, safe, bedside table, phone, shower gel, or shampoo; the light switch by the bed didn’t work; the aircon wasn’t performing and I was told it couldn’t go below 20c. The shower area was dirty and the shower was broken and dripping. The towels didn’t absorb water, they were more like wraps, and there were no pool towels. The mattress wasn’t good, and the very thin walls meant I could hear the neighbours clearly. My room wasn’t cleaned, and at 10.30am I was told it was too late. There was no apology or sign of empathy or willingness to help. Don’t book a beachfront room here at that rate.

We rented a scooter at the front desk, and the process was seamless with terrific service. We also used the laundry, which was quick and affordable. The pool, bar, and restaurant are all reasonably priced. It’s a great resort right on the beach. The beach is easy to walk along, though rocky, and the views and sunsets are superb. Definitely book a premium seaview room, you won’t be disappointed.

The beach is beautiful, and the room itself was nice, but we were very disappointed with our stay. On check-in night the room was dirty, with spiders and webs everywhere and dirty carpets. There was no toilet paper or basic amenities. Reception had already closed, and we didn’t want to disturb anyone by calling the private number we’d been given. The next day we asked the cleaning staff to tidy the room and hung the “please make up the room” sign on the door before going out. When we came back a few hours later, nothing had been done. We saw them cleaning the bungalow next door and asked if they could do ours next. They said yes, so we went out again, but in the evening the room was still untouched. The sign was still there, and they hadn’t left fresh water or anything else. We went to the restaurant, where a kind lady gave us toilet paper, trash bags, and water. The next morning, as we were checking out, the cleaning staff arrived very early and asked whether we were leaving. It felt strange, given that our room hadn’t been cleaned once during our stay.
