Lanta Garden Hill Apartment

The location is great, but we had a lot of problems during our stay. The sewage system clogged often, and shower water would sit there instead of draining. The toilet had the same issue. Even with the doors and windows shut, mosquitoes were everywhere in the property. Our room's air conditioning was so loud we couldn't sleep. The towels and sheets were changed, but they were very worn and stained. The place was cleaned daily, yet cleanliness was still a problem.

The location was good, and they cleaned and changed the towels every day. But we kept running into problems over the few days we stayed. The toilet wouldn't flush, so we had to ask for help daily, and shower water didn't drain either, which was disgusting. The kitchen hotplate didn't work properly, so cooking was impossible, and the room Wi-Fi barely worked. The apartment also seemed a bit dirty to me. They do offer laundry, but it costs more than elsewhere, so I'd take your clothes to a laundry shop yourself :)

The staff seemed incredibly helpful and polite until we asked for something or raised a complaint. There were huge cockroaches in the bed and kitchen cupboards, the apartment reeked of sewage, and the shower barely trickled. They acknowledged the sewage smell was a problem but did nothing, so our clothes still stink. Dampness in the smelly wardrobe left mold on my clothes and shoes. We've just found a lovely, clean, larger apartment for the same price. I've never left a negative review before, but don't stay here unless you want to spend your holiday in reception asking for repairs.

We loved the service. The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home, and the apartments are on the main road with a pool, restaurants, and shops less than a minute away. Rooms feel fresh, open, and pleasant, with a good standard for Thailand. The restaurant by the entrance serves excellent breakfast and has a nice place to relax before heading out, with tuk-tuk’s right outside. I wished the rooms had Chromecast so we could stream a movie. The next morning, staff knocked and installed a new smart-TV. You won't regret staying here!
