Lanta Sunmoon Bungalow

The people are really nice and make you feel at home. The rooms are clean and lovely, just look at the pictures. Sunmoon is in the south of Koh lanta, so we rented motocross, a perfect bike for the island. We could ride all around LANTA and return at the end of the day to a quiet place for a good night's sleep. I recommend it.

The host was one of a kind, incredibly friendly and helpful, and a real organizing genius. He made our stay unforgettable, and I'll definitely come back. The bathroom was the only downside.

We happened to stop for food while traveling around Krabi and ordered shrimp Pad Thai for 80 baht. It came with just one shrimp. At other places, the same dish usually had four shrimp and cost much less.

We spent two and a half weeks in bungalow F5 and had a wonderful, relaxing time. Sun Moon bungalow is a lovely place to unwind, close to the beach, and Tam and his family made us feel welcome. Tam is funny and very helpful if anything comes up. Even on rainy days, sitting in the hammock with a book was perfect. There's plenty of nature around, from birds and monitor lizards to nearby livestock and pesky macaque monkeys. The early morning noise makes it feel like you're sleeping in the jungle. It's rustic, so don't expect five-star comforts or complain about the occasional insect getting inside. That's part of the experience. Klong Jark and nearby Ao Nui (secret beach) are beautiful and live up to the reason people come here. The area's downsides aren't Sun Moon's fault: beach bars charge a lot for beer, 150THB for a big one when it's under 60THB at a 7-11, and tuk tuk and taxi drivers take advantage of the isolation to charge 200THB just to get to Kantiang.
