Update: The hotel's immature response still refuses to take responsibility. I booked a dorm, then changed the booking to a private suite three minutes later, eight hours before arriving. They said the other person booked the room at the exact same time, but paid a higher daily rate, so I was out of luck. I had arrived before that guest. They told me to take it up with the booking site, so here I am. Thanks! I had a confirmed booking and had paid a deposit. After eight hours of travel, I arrived expecting to check in and was told they were overbooked and couldn't put me up. Staff said they'd given the same room to another group who had booked at the same time, even though I was there ready to check in and those guests hadn't arrived yet. They also refused to refund my deposit, despite being unable to honor the reservation. Being turned away after traveling for hours, with no room and no refund, was extremely unfair and unacceptable. A confirmed booking with a deposit should mean the accommodation is available. I would appreciate a review of what happened and a refund, since the hostel failed to provide the stay it had confirmed.

We spent three nights in a private room at lemonade boutique inn while backpacking, and it was just right. The staff were lovely, restaurants were close by, and the beach was really nearby. Laundry came back perfectly clean and was done super fast. A lovely stay on Koh lanta, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone staying there.

The staff were friendly and the place reasonably clean. The bed was comfortable enough, but the noise was a huge problem. The balcony doors barely blocked anything, and soundproofing doesn't seem to have reached Koh Lanta yet. Better doors and proper soundproofing could make a massive difference to what would otherwise be a great stay. The road noise can't be changed, but the design and installation could help. I was woken every day at half past five by the local mosque's call to prayer, which wasn't what I had in mind. Bring earplugs.

We only ended up here because it was a last-minute trip and everywhere else was booked. It cost much more than similar hotels nearby, but felt more like a hostel. People shouted in the corridor at night, the mattress had holes and hurt my back, and the bathroom didn't seem properly clean. The shower was poor and the room looked different from the website photos. A badly closing window let mosquitoes in. Cleaning was lacking too: they replaced the sheets, towels, toilet paper, soap, and shampoo only after we asked. A very disappointing stay.
