Lom La Lanta Hotel

I’ve stayed in places all over the world, from huts to five-star hotels, and Lom La Lanta is one of my favorites. Nin puts so much care into the property and looks after guests herself each day, doing the laundry, making breakfast, and cleaning rooms. You can’t buy that kind of genuine hospitality, no matter how much you spend. This was my second time on the island, and I’ll stay here again when I return. Hope it’s soon. A basic but good hotel, with bike hire available. The woman who makes breakfast is cheerful and very sweet. Our room had a slight drain smell, and the laundry cost more than other places for the same amount of clothes. I suspect they weigh it in the huge baskets they provide.

The air conditioner filter needs cleaning. I kept sneezing, and there was constant car and motorbike noise until morning because the hotel is right by the main road. Bring mosquito repellent. Renovations were going on, but nobody told us beforehand. I’m angry that Booking.com recommended it, and I’ll never stay here again.

The location is handy for both restaurants and beaches, and the breakfast was wonderful and included. We stayed six nights, found the place very clean, and thought the service was fantastic. We’ll definitely return.
