Mango House isn't like anywhere I've stayed. The whole place sits on stilts over the Adaman Sea, and you can constantly hear the water rushing beneath the floorboards. It feels like being on a boat, in the best way. We spent most of our two and a half spectacular February days on the deck, enjoying the comfy chairs, hammocks, views and welcome breeze. It's rustic and authentic, so probably not for fussy high-end travelers. The floorboards creak, but they're sturdy. There isn't artificial air conditioning, but the sea air flows through the windows, doors and gaps in the floorboards to keep things cool. Roman, the new owner, was helpful showing us around and suggesting boating, snorkeling and diving trips. He also helped arrange a scooter, the best way to get around Koh Lanta. Old Town is very chill, with great meals and cocktails at restaurants an easy crawl from Mango House.

Mango House number 3 was a lovely place to stay for three nights. It's a humble little home on stilts over the ocean, a beautiful and unusual way to experience local life. The house has what you need to be comfortable, though there's no air conditioning and it can get hot during the day. We were out most days, so it didn't bother us, and the deck was great for cooling off. Lanta Old Town is a real gem. Just note that houses 1 and 2 share their decks, so they have less privacy.

We spent three lovely days here and watched the sunrise from the balcony every morning. The Mango House is peaceful and beautiful, right in the middle of Koh Lanta Oldtown, and the area's charm was obvious straight away. The rooms are clean and well equipped, with shower gel, kitchen supplies and everything else we needed. Good local restaurants are only about 50m away. The service was extraordinary. Mr. Samsung found the best and cheapest option when we needed recommendations or help arranging a boat trip. My girlfriend was on crutches after a motorcycle accident, and we were grateful for the warm welcome and strong support. We'll definitely come back!

Suite one was perfect for us, opening onto a huge balcony with hammocks, a table and chairs, an outdoor shower and a gorgeous view. The house is well equipped and great for a few days of proper relaxation. I loved, loved, loved my stay at Mango Houses. It felt authentic and so relaxing. I highly recommend Mango Houses and Old Town Lanta, and will definitely be back!

Mango house had everything we needed for a great stay, including a fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable bed and water. From the terrace you get an amazing view, and it's easy to relax there. With the sea under our bedroom, sleeping felt like being on a boat. The neighborhood is lovely, with lots of shops and restaurants, and we felt part of the community. Samsun, the local guy looking after things, did a great job and really cared about us. We'd definitely come back. Highly recommended!
