Pana Long Beach Resort

The kindness of the owners and staff at Pana Long Beach Resort left me lost for words. The bungalows are spacious, beautiful, and modern, with really comfortable beds, roomy bathrooms, a kitchenette, and smart TV. I loved the hammock on the balcony. The pool area is so nice, with a good number of loungers, and the grounds are full of flowers and fruit trees. It's a quick walk to the beach and restaurants, or just a short taxi ride to anywhere else. If I could give 100 stars, I would. We can't wait to come back one day 💓

This is a fairly new build, so the facilities are in good shape. The pool has a waterfall and sits among trees and flowers, which bring in colorful birds. It's a quiet area and a short walk to Long Beach. Our room had cute towels folded into shapes to welcome us, plus cool LED lighting. The layout worked well, but some shelves and a bedside table were missing. Cleaning was done daily, which was practical. The bed was big and comfy, and the shower was good with plenty of hot water, though the pressure eased off a little when using hot water. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had some internet issues, but they did try to fix them. It would've been nice to have a choice of pillows, since all of them were quite bulky and hard. Soft tissues would've been useful too, instead of toilet rolls.

The tropical garden and pool are well kept, and the bungalows are clean and comfortable. It's easy to spend days here, with the beach nearby and then the clean pool or a swing in your hammock to come back to. There are lots of beach restaurants around, especially nice at sunset, and the main road is only minutes away. One useful thing to know, they don't take cards, so bring cash. The nearby ATMs don't always work, though they took us to working ones up the road. This isn't very clearly highlighted on booking.com.

The bed deserves a mention, it was the most comfortable one we had on our whole Thailand holiday. The bungalows felt new, modern, and well cared for, our room was very clean, and the facilities were great. The owners and staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The location is fantastic, about a 2-minute walk to the beach, and the hotel arranged a scooter rental at a very fair price. We had a really great stay in many ways. Two things did affect our experience. First, although we booked through Agoda, we were told on arrival that payment had to be cash, with no card option. That was inconvenient and cost us extra, since we both had to withdraw money and pay ATM and international transaction fees. If cash only is the policy, it should be made clear in advance or on the booking platform so guests can come prepared. The bigger issue was our first night. We were told we couldn't use the room we had booked because there was “no electricity” in it, and had to stay in a different room. We accepted that at the time, but later found out the whole island had no electricity then, so that wouldn't have been a reason our room alone was unavailable. It seemed to us that the room had simply been double booked for that night. A mistake like that wouldn't have bothered us by itself. What upset us was feeling we hadn't been told the truth. We would've understood a direct apology and explanation that the room had been double booked. The next day added to the frustration. After being moved once, we still had to check out at 11:00 AM and wait for the booked room to be ready. We asked several times if we could stay in the other room until ours was cleaned, even if we had to wait longer there. We weren't asking for early check-in, just hoping to avoid checking out, waiting around with our belongings, and moving again. They said it wasn't possible, so we had to leave and wait. Everything else was genuinely excellent, including the cleanliness, comfort, location, and friendly service. It's a shame the avoidable handling of the room issue and lack of honesty left a bad feeling after an otherwise nearly perfect stay. I'm still glad we stayed here.
