SriLanta Resort and Spa

We paid £90 a night at the last minute and regretted it. The photos below are genuine. It may have been good once, but it clearly hasn’t been touched since Covid. We won’t be back. We stayed six nights and changed rooms on the last night. The Forest suite was much better than the Star path room, though its balcony bathtub was completely exposed, so you’d need to wear a swimsuit. In Star path, there were two hard mattresses on the floor, uncomfortable furniture and single steps everywhere that were easy to trip over. The resort felt run down. One of the two pools was green and seemed poorly cleaned, while umbrellas and sunbeds were broken. Tables were dirty, rubbish was piled up, and path lights were broken and filthy. The place looked like a tip. Staff tried, but there was no real management and the front desk was chaotic. The beach bar was run by a third party who didn’t seem interested in waiter service, so you had to go to them. Breakfast was okay on the first day, but after seeing the rest of the hotel, we didn’t return. Be skeptical of some of the reviews that make it sound like paradise. This wasn’t.

The resort had a good range of things to do, including water sports and guided nature walks, and the dining options served tasty food featuring local flavors. There was also a pool and a well equipped fitness center. The setting was picturesque, with beautiful views and a peaceful feel. The staff were warm and attentive without being intrusive, and the whole property was clean. The rooms felt cozy, though some furnishings were showing their age and could use refreshing. Even so, I had a memorable, relaxing escape and would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

The beach has a wide shoreline, turquoise water and bright blue bean bags scattered across the sand. I could lounge with a cold drink and watch the sunset while time seemed to slow down. It felt like a rejuvenating mix of nature and modern comfort. In the room, deep grey tones, natural wood, colorful accent pillows and greenery created a stylish but grounded, calming feel. The highlight was the huge private balcony, with a jacuzzi where I could soak in warm water and listen to nature. Bamboo fencing gave it a sense of privacy, and the forest view made it easy to put my phone away and unwind. It really felt like true relaxation, like being away on a tropical island in a comfortable, stylish setting.
