After 12 years, I came back to Koh Ngai and found it still calm, natural, and beautifully untouched. We spent four nights in beachfront room 101 at Koh Ngai Thanya Beach Resort, right next to the pool. It was perfect for a chilled escape, and the location deserves five stars. You can snorkel just a few metres from shore, with lots of fish. The relaxed atmosphere was lively too, with many families and kids playing together. Our son enjoyed that. The beachfront room was comfortable and all about the location, though there's no bidet. The breakfast buffet is simple, but the à la carte lunch and dinner were decent. Food on the island is quite pricey, around 1,000 THB per meal for three and 100 THB for juice. Prices were similar even outside the resort restaurant. There's no 7-Eleven, so bringing plenty of snacks is a good idea. We loved the place and will definitely return.

This was our second visit, and we had another amazing stay. The hotel is very good, the staff are friendly, and the food is good. For snorkeling, the location is hard to beat, with the best spots right in front of you. The resort sits at the corner of the beach, so it's quiet and there's no constant stream of people passing by. Some people say the restaurant is expensive, but to us it cost the same as other places, and laundry prices were similar too. Koh Ngai is expensive in general because everything has to be brought over by longtail boat.

The bungalows were great, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel has an ideal spot on Koh Ngai, with easy access to the beach and reef and good snorkeling. The breakfast felt outdated and was very basic compared with other hotels in the same category. There's no AC in the bathroom. We stayed three nights and would come back.

We loved our four nights here and the beautiful bungalows. Everyone was so kind and attentive, from reception and housekeeping to the massage therapists and restaurant team. They were always smiling and eager to help, and made our stay feel special. We'll definitely be back.

The hotel restaurant really stood out, with a big selection of fresh, authentic food. I imagine sourcing everything from the mainland can't be easy. The room, service, staff, location, and food were consistently excellent. It was an incredible, beautiful stay.
