OUTRIGGER Phi Phi Island Resort

I arrived by speedboat for a 5-night stay, and several staff members greeted me warmly, handled my luggage, and made the arrival feel easy. I've stayed at a number of other 5-star luxury properties in Thailand, but never at an Outrigger before, especially one with a major renovation and rebrand so recently. The landscaping, white sand paths, and calm atmosphere give the property a sense of luxury without making it feel over-commercialized. My villa was spacious, spotless, and restful, with a modern tropical minimalist design, warm wood, soft lighting, vaulted ceilings, and an easy indoor-outdoor layout. I caught myself thinking more than once, “I wish this was my home in Portugal.” The bed was heavenly, too. The food was exceptional. I've eaten at Michelin-star restaurants and honestly preferred many of the meals here. Favorites included beef tenderloin, tiger prawns, green curry, fresh seafood, and the excellent breakfast each morning. The restaurant's modern tropical look, open kitchen, and displays of fresh seafood added to the experience. The people made the stay feel especially welcoming, from landscaping and housekeeping to the restaurant team. At the spa, Tum greeted me kindly, Varn gave one of the most calming massages I've had, and Teddy was equally wonderful during my second treatment. I spent several days scuba diving, and Rhys helped arrange everything and took time to say hello throughout my stay. The app, concierge communication, and service were excellent from start to finish. I've had some unexpectedly special resort stays in Thailand, and these 5 nights at OUTRIGGER Phi Phi Island Resort were among them. Luxury is easy to build. Creating warmth, peace, and genuine hospitality is much harder, and this resort managed both. Thank you to everyone at Outrigger Phi Phi for making the stay so memorable. I will absolutely be returning.

Be aware if you're thinking of booking. As of January 2026, the resort was a construction zone, and the beach was covered with dirt, trash, and pollution from industrial boats bringing in building materials. The resort surely isn't open. We can't understand the newest 5 star evaluation from this week.

Our December 2024 family trip to Zeavola was another unforgettable visit after we'd had an amazing time there in Dec 2019. Everyone loved the beautiful setting, with pristine beach and lush greenery that made it easy to relax and enjoy some adventure. A highlight was how the staff surprised my mom for her birthday; it was such a thoughtful personal touch. Chef Satya and his team made delicious, beautifully presented food, and the service was warm and attentive. Zeavola Resort gave us a lovely mix of comfort and luxury, and we left with cherished family memories. We can't wait to visit again!

The location is why I gave this resort 3 stars. It sits in what should be a pristine paradise, but plastic waste spoils the surrounding beach and sea. It was disheartening to see so little effort to clean or protect such a beautiful natural place. I hope management takes steps to address it and makes preserving the area a priority for future guests. The rest of the stay exceeded expectations: the room was spacious, modern, immaculate, and had thoughtful touches, beautiful views, and a heavenly bed. The staff were warm and attentive from check-in through dining and spa treatments, and made everything feel seamless and memorable.
