The reception was almost always empty, which made it difficult to report the problems. The hotel is on an island separate from the town center, something we weren’t told beforehand. To reach town we depended on canoe transport with very overpriced fares, leaving us almost no choice. At nearby restaurants, we also saw attempts to charge us for things we hadn’t ordered. We changed rooms four times because every one had problems. Some had no hot water, others barely had running water, and all were extremely dirty. There was no housekeeping, no fresh bed linens or towels during the stay. In one room, a water pipe burst in the bathroom as soon as we arrived. That alone nearly made us leave early. There were cockroaches and other insects in the room, broken sink faucets, and still no hot water in the shower. The pool was so dirty we couldn’t use it. If you want to relax, I wouldn’t recommend the place: very loud prayers came through megaphones around 4 AM and several times during the day, making sleep impossible. I respect all religions, but the noise was constant and overwhelming. When we decided to leave before our stay was over, reception was empty again, so we left the key on the counter. Later we saw the receptionist in town. He avoided us and offered no apology or help, even though he knew we were leaving early because of the hotel’s condition. The hotel is in terrible shape, looked abandoned, and isn’t prepared to receive guests. It’s nowhere near what I’d call a resort.

The location was perfect, and for the price I can't recommend it enough. They met us at the pier and helped us all the way to the resort. Our room was huge, the air conditioning worked well, and the bathroom was fine. The staff were lovely and helpful. I really don't know why this place has bad reviews. Thank you.

The reception was good and the room was fine, but this resort is a poor choice if you plan to take an excursion, as most people in Koh Phi Phi do. We weren't told that you can only reach it by long-tail boat, and the last boat to the resort leaves at 5:30 pm. Our excursion ended at 7:30, so we had to pay for a private boat taxi. The resort didn't cover that ride. We tried messaging the hotel during the day to ask about cancelling or help finding a boat, but got no reply. Really poor service. For Koh Phi Phi hotel prices, you can find better options, especially if you'll be out all day.

The room made this a horrible stay. There were cockroaches and ants, mold in the bathroom, and the sleep sofa was hard, only about 70 cm wide and around 1.70 m long, so it wasn't suitable for sleeping. I had booked room service, but it wasn't available. The TV didn't work, and reception did nothing after I reported it. The pool felt tiny for the number of houses, and the resort was so isolated that getting away from the 35-degree heat meant a long walk or a boat ride. Boat taxis were unreliable, and the only other way around was a long hike. My stay at the Little Star Resort was a disappointment, and I'd never go back.
