The beds were firm, the AC worked well, there was running water, and the pool was decent. I went in expecting little more than camping with a toilet, so it was a cool experience. There’s definitely noise at night, though I assume that’s the same all over the island. I’ve had worse stays in supposedly better places in Thailand.

The room was acceptable, and the price is below average, but don’t expect a higher-quality stay. It’s about a 15-minute walk from both the pier and entertainment area, under the hot, humid sun, and there’s a steep 8-degree slope to climb. The man on staff with glasses had a very unpleasant, unfriendly attitude. I won’t come back.

Although my room was rustic rather than luxurious, it was clean, functional, and had breathtaking views. Getting to it meant a fairly tiring walk, so I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone with mobility issues. I’d been nervous after reading reviews, but the staff welcomed me with smiles and a cold bottle of water. They were lovely throughout the stay, and I’m happy with how it went.

The walk to the hotel was exhausting: Phi Phi has no taxis or motorbikes, so we had to carry our luggage up a steep hill in around 33 °C. After that, trying to rest on a mattress almost like sleeping on the floor was a complete disaster. It was so hard that we struggled to fall asleep and woke up with body pain. When we told reception, they gave us one blanket and six bedsheets as their only “solution”. They laughed and said they already knew about the mattress problem, which showed no concern for guest comfort. Rest is the most important thing in accommodation, and it was impossible here. I definitely wouldn’t stay again or recommend this hotel.
