The Hip Resort @ Phi Phi

The best part was the beach. Loh Lana bay is beautiful and only about a five-minute walk away, and the nearby restaurants and bars were decent. They all served much the same things at roughly the same prices. Our favorite was The Beach Bar. Chad, who owns it, was lovely and made us feel welcome. Definitely pay him a visit. The hotel itself was shocking: poor customer service, and staff who hardly spoke English, which isn't great for travelers. Breakfast was sparse and shared with the neighboring hotel. The hotel advertises free boat rides, but ours never arrived, so we paid 2000 baht for a ten-minute trip and got no resolution from the hotel.

The room was spotless, and towels and toiletries were supplied. Staff were attentive and quick to help with requests. There's no breakfast, but it's easy to find something to eat at the nearby resort and enjoy the beach. We were pleasantly surprised by the stay, especially for the price.

It's a good spot, right by the beach and restaurants, though you'll need to take a boat from phiphi to the village where the hotel is. The host was very friendly. The room and facilities are basic. The sink kept filling up instead of draining, and sometimes the shower water smelled unpleasant.

The rooms were clean and well maintained, and the pool was good. The price felt high for a resort that's not close to the main phi phi pier. You have to take another boat from there to Loh lana bay, then walk about 1km to reach the resort. Getting back to Phuket was rough for us. The water at loh lana bay was so low that the boats taking us back to phi phi pier couldn't get close to shore. We had to carry our luggage on our heads and shoulders and walk more than 500 metres through water up to our knees. This might be a better choice if you're coming to phi phi with less luggage.
