SAii Koh Samui Villas (adult only 12+)

The beach is rocky, so swimming to cool off was barely possible. That’s hardly something the resort can control, but if you want a swimmable beach, this isn’t the place. We chose it as our first stop in Thailand, hoping for somewhere quiet to recover from jet lag, and that’s exactly what we needed. The room was comfortable and cleaned promptly each day, and the grounds were beautifully landscaped and well kept. Breakfast was delicious with good variety, drinks were well made and reasonably priced, and we really enjoyed the two dinners we had there. The staff were consistently friendly and welcoming. We loved our stay and would recommend it to another couple looking for a relaxing break.

The hotel app made it easy to book shared transport to places like Fisherman’s Village, at a lower rate than private taxis. The information was clear and easy to follow. The location is quiet and good for relaxing, though taxis cost more here than in other parts of Thailand. For exploring the island, renting a bike or car would be best, or you can take an island tour as we did to see lots of sights in one day. I recommend Pui Relax restaurant around the corner for local food. We came for our honeymoon and loved it. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful with any questions. Our clean, spacious room had a small plunge pool and a well-stocked minibar with good variety. You could request pool cleaning, and the room was cleaned daily unless you asked otherwise. Breakfast had a great range of Thai and international food. Lunch was nice in a beautiful setting, though not the best value, as you might expect at a hotel restaurant. The pool areas were excellent and well maintained, with lovely views of the beach and surroundings. The gym had all the essentials. We’d come again.

The beach isn’t private and it’s quite rocky, but it’s lovely for an evening walk. There are plenty of sunloungers, and listening to the waves is a treat. The three pools were never too busy and had just the right temperature. One has a swim-up bar. Our villa was near the amenities, though you wouldn’t know it. Each place has its own private villa and plunge pool, but the pool wasn’t the easiest to get into. The bed was huge, I couldn’t find my husband in it, and the bathroom shower was enormous and had great pressure. The staff made our stay wonderful. Ter, little, boss, da in food servece and meen on reception were amazing and couldn’t do enough for us. Everyone greeted and acknowledged us. It’s a wonderful place if you just want to chill. We’d go again in a heartbeat x

The beach is tucked away, so it wasn’t packed with outsiders. We could snorkel, paddleboard or kayak for free, and the refreshing pool had an awesome ocean view. Breakfast was delicious, and the restaurant was top-notch: the Thai food tasted authentic, and there were Western choices like pizza too. The location is excellent, about a 10-minute drive from the airport and Chaweng. On the grounds, it felt like a secluded beach resort. The rooms were clean and housekeeping did a great job. The staff made us feel as if they’d rolled out the red carpet, with excellent service from everyone. The front desk were accommodating, everyone greeted us, and they cheerfully handled our questions and requests. The resort app made housekeeping requests and general questions easier than calling. We were blown away by the service. I’ve been to Samui three times, and this is now my go-to. Thanks to everyone for making our stay so wonderful.
