Dan's Koyao Retreat

The surroundings felt like paradise, and the hospitality made the beauty of the place even more special. We're leaving with lovely memories and a little piece of Thailand in our hearts. Khop khun krap 🙏🏻❤️

We had three lovely nights and pretty much the whole place to ourselves. Sin and his staff were excellent, and the accommodation was so big you could sit and look at the view all day. Hornbills flew about the whole time. I hoped to see monkeys, but there was no sign of them. A few nice restaurants and massage parlours are a five-minute walk away. It's a small island without a lot to do, but lovely for a few relaxing days.

Breakfast was so generous and tasty it felt like brunch. SIN also made everything easy, sorting transfers and a scooter and sharing personal tips on food, sunsets, and places to see around the island. The three cottages are roomy and thoughtfully designed, each with its own terrace and loungers. There are plenty of spots to unwind by the long infinity pool, including sunbeds, a little library, and a table with a stunning view. Set on a hillside above the sea, Dan’s Retreat was a peaceful hideaway for us. Highly recommended for a quiet break.

We stayed three nights and wished we could have added more. The accommodation is beautiful, and the team made us a lovely breakfast each morning. Get out early enough for a chance to see the sunrise while riding around. Sin was a huge help from the moment we checked in, arranging rides, scooter rentals, activities, and suggestions for restaurants and beaches. It was clear we'd picked the right place.
