Charm Churee Villa Hotel & Resort

Trin, the host and owner, was attentive and helpful throughout our stay at Charm Churee. He even arranged a private dinner for us in the restored lobby, with the ocean view in front of us. The place is rustic and full of character, and my friends and I had an amazing time. Some rooms are abandoned, as other reviews say, but we stayed in rooms Trin had restored and they were great. The location is convenient, a short walk into town, with easy access to Jansom bay for swimming, snorkelling, and views. If you're looking for somewhere unique with a great story, I can't recommend Charm Churee enough. Unforgettable!

Trin was kind and very helpful, and the place has good people, a nice vibe, and loads of character. The lobby and reception are a great spot to sit and watch boats, with an amazing view. The bathrooms have been redone, though the rooms still need restoration, which is understandable if you're travelling on a low budget. We were fine with the 10-minute walk into the center, even at night. The beach is good for people who like exploring abandoned places. If you enjoy an authentic jungle feel, this could be your spot. We felt at home and relaxed as soon as we arrived at this beautiful beachside place. Everything felt peaceful and special, with loads of charm. The people were so warm and kind, and you can feel the care they put into the place. It's a lovely spot to switch off and enjoy the surroundings. We were completely comfortable and grateful for the stay. We would definitely come back!

I've been living at this resort for a full month, so here's my honest take. The rooms currently in use, maybe 10 to 20, are comfortable and lovely, rustic and full of character, and many have stunning ocean views. They have hot water, AC, and big comfortable beds. They're well looked after, and if something needs attention, the team usually sorts it out the same day or next morning. Wi-Fi was great in the lobby, with plenty of couches and tables and a magnificent view, but it didn't really reach my room 55, which is quite far away. I can't speak for rooms closer to the lobby. The best part for me was the staff, hands down. They're warm, kind, helpful, and present, and make you feel like family. This is a small team of family and friends putting everything they have into rebuilding the site. It's not perfect, and you can see old damage and nature taking space back, but their commitment is admirable. They put nature first and seem guided by transparency, honesty, respect for nature, and genuine customer service. They're also visionaries, actively affiliating with social enterprises, aiming for one partnership per room, so your stay gives back to the Thai community 🤝🇹🇭 Jansom Bay is a gorgeous natural bay about a five-minute walk away, free for guests. It's small and open to the public for an entry fee, so it can get crowded during the day. Go early and the beach is empty, and having morning coffee there is magical. The bay is cleaned daily and cared for, with a small bar selling sodas, beer, coconuts and more, plus an outdoor shower. There aren't many loungers or other installations yet, which I personally like because the natural beauty stands out. The renovation didn't bother me at all. I work online and spend lots of the day on site, but barely heard any noise. The online listings and photos can be confusing. I think the previous management still controls some listings and images. They're active on Facebook as Charm Churee Villa and on Instagram as ccvogteam, not Charm Churee Villa. If you see pictures of a pool or restaurant, neither is available right now. Given how dedicated they are, I believe they may return with time. There is no restaurant or pool currently, but one of the lovely women on site can cook for you 🥰 Would I come back? Absolutely, 100 percent. I can't wait to see what this special place becomes over the next months and years. I tried to find constructive criticism, but couldn't.
