Our charming bungalow had a sea view, and it’s about a 10-minute scooter ride from the town center and the more touristy east coast. The place rents scooters, which you’ll need if you plan to get around, since walking won’t get you far. The staff were attentive, but didn’t speak English. Using Google Translate with text input and voice output saved us time. The sea is very close, though swimming isn’t ideal on this west side. The coast is a bit muddy with silt and not very pleasant for swimming, a little like the Royan area.
