There are cats all over the place, which may or may not suit you. I’m not a fan, personally. The owner is nice, but getting in touch before you arrive can be difficult, so you may have to try hard. The hotel is in the south of Koh Yao Yai, the part with fewer tourists, and has the best quality for the price I found on an island that’s mostly resorts. It’s clean and practical, with a comfortable bed, new shower, private fridge, kettle, effective AC, and fast WiFi. The street is quiet despite being near the main road, and there are lots of trees and birds around. Shops and different restaurants are nearby, though you’ll probably rent a scooter when you arrive on the island anyway. Breakfast is a buffet at the restaurant up the street, which was great. There are lovely beaches close by too.

The cats and kittens everywhere make it a little paradise if you love cats 🧡. The staff were really kind, and the room was completely clean, with all the equipment you need for a stay of several days. I loved this place!

The surroundings are quiet, so it’s easy to sleep well. The hotel has four cats, and since we love animals, having them around in the mornings and evenings was lovely. We let them come into our room, too. They’re friendly, cuddly, and clean. Our room was big and fully equipped, and the hotel is nicely priced. The AC and fridge worked well, as did the kettle. There were basic glasses and a spoon, and one large towel per person. A second, smaller towel would have been nice. The hotel is at the very south of the island, so getting back north by scooter takes around 49 minutes, but that was still okay.
